The model

Each of the models is handmade in the resin casting process and is subject to strict quality controls. The edition is limited to 333 pieces. The 1:43 scale model features intricate details. The antenna, wheel splash guard and sun visor, for example, are assembled by hand. Numerous high-quality decals complete and further perfect the appearance. The precise reproduction of the driver's cab interior is also impressive. This model is rounded off by a high-quality display case measuring 39 cm x 12 cm x 14 cm. The transparent acrylic glass cover reliably protects the model from external impact, dust and dirt. The solid base gives the model a high-contrast base. The bottom of the base is covered with velvet fabric, feels high quality and avoids scratches on the base.

The original

The development of the articulated vehicle and its trailer goes back to the beginning of the 20th century, where the first trials took place in the USA. Since Europe, and Switzerland in particular, already had a dense rail network, freight transport initially took place mainly by rail. Thus, the semitrailer truck did not become established until the 1960s. In Switzerland, it came into widespread use in the 1970s. This type of vehicle was particularly suitable for complete loads destined for only one or a few delivery addresses. The larger loading volume was ideal, for example, for delivering to depositories or large branches. Fine distribution continued to be carried out by the more maneuverable flatbed trucks. Of the approximately 41,000 trucks currently registered in Switzerland, about 10,000 vehicles fall into the semitrailer category.

Gross vehicle weight: 28,000 kg
Year of manufacture: 1979
