The original

The military designation, which is somewhat unwieldy, is:

Steyr-PuchPinzgauer 712 T Sanw 4 Liegepl L gl 6x6

Basically, it is just another variant of the Pinzgauer all-terrain vehicle procured by the Swiss Army in the 1970s and 1980s in the incredible number of 6000 units. The so-calledSani-Pinz was built exclusively on the 6x6 version. The equipmentliess the transport of 4 people lying and

1 person seated, or 4 persons seated and 2 lying, apart from driver and co-driver.
The vehicle was so ingeniously designed that even within the framework of the 1980 armament program, the proven Pinzgauer was used again and in 1983 a considerable number of 310 more were purchased. The Pinzgauer's service life ended only with the acquisition of the VW Bus T3 at the end of

the 80s and the Bucher Duro in the early90s.
