The decisive factor for the development of Saurer, Berna, or FBW models in Mstb. 1:87 is a possible large variety of colors and lettering. Since the basis of these models consists of a very elaborately produced metal injection mold, 500 pieces are by far not sufficient as a production run. A CNC-milled mold pays for itself only after several thousand copies, plus the respective production costs for raw material and assembly of the models. Conversely, this means for the collector that a variety is guaranteed over the years, which always allows new color versions of the famous vehicles from Arbon.
