The Saurer and Berna D290B trucks were built for solo operation until the early 1980s. The variety of types included bodies for industry, trade and commerce. But also municipal bodies or fire trucks. The numerous solo vehicles with refrigerated box bodies, which were used by freight forwarders or large distributors, fitted into the daily picture at that time. Both chauffeurs enjoyed this type of vehicle thanks to the clearly visible improvements such as enlarged windshields and side windows, wind deflectors, distinctive cooling grille, etc.. And quite a few examples are now mileage millionaires. Our prototype vehicle is registered in the region around the beautiful Lake Hallwil and is in excellent condition thanks to the best care of its owners, the IG Berna Oldtimer.
