The original

The Saurer Normallenker with a large engine hood was a typical vehicle for heavy transport with high loads. As a four-wheel tipper mostly used for construction and municipal service.

Based on the proven concept of the D2KT engine, the new turbocharged engines were created especially for the Swiss market starting in the mid-1970s with a rated output of 290, or 330 hp.

With the new engines, Saurer had completed its power range and could thus offer an economical solution for every application. Engines with 180, 230, 290 and 330 hp were available. The improvements were also documented on the outside: all vehicles received a new striking cooling grille. The windshields and side windows were enlarged, thus improving visibility in general. But numerous improvements were also made to the driver's cab. All in all, the massive-looking Saurer was one of the best trucks of its time.
