The large and heavy metal model impresses with the excellent overall impression. Displayed in flight configuration on the chrome stand, numerous details can be explored that will delight every collector's heart. Thus, the viewer gets an in-depth look into the landing gear bay, this of course completely painted and provided with red warning stripes along the closing edge. Or you can see the exact armament with the guided missiles and sidewinders. A model that should not be missing in any collection of contemporary aviation models.
The J-5001 is the first F/A-18 C registered in Switzerland in the history of our Air Force. In a certain sense, it is also considered primus inter pares. No other Hornet can look back on such a number of AMRAAM radar-guided air-to-air missiles fired. The same is true of the wingtip-mounted 9X Sidewinders. Only the J-5001 also has measuring equipment for Armasuisse, which evaluates the live missions.
All these components are used on the so-called lifefirings. Thus, the logo from 2019 under the cockpit also testifies to one of these missions. Similar to the warbirds from the past era, the J-5001 also has the symbols of the downed drones and guided weapons. This "nose art" is traditionally located on the left side below the cockpit window and is accurately depicted on our model.
