The Pilatus Porter PC-6 is the Air Force's working and small transport aircraft. Its rugged design and short takeoff and landing characteristics also enable operations from makeshift airfields in the field. Today, the Porter aircraft are mainly used for transporting people and material, for dropping parascouts and, equipped with a water tank, for fighting forest fires.
