Besides the High Speed, the Sierra was one of the most successful model series from Binningen. Except, of course, for the Sahara, which was produced with the almost astronomical figure of 2,700 units.
At the end of the 1970s, the Sierra luxury sedan was joined by a convertible that left nothing to be desired in terms of elegance and sportiness. A four-seater convertible, equipped with a 6L V8 engine and a top speed of 210 km/h was hard to beat in the automobile market of that time.
Perfect proportions with a clear design language, an elongated body line, and a fully retractable soft top, all of which make for an undeniable affinity with Italian design of the highest standard.
At 89,000 Swiss francs, the selling price of the Sierra Cabrio, which was presented at the 1978 Geneva Motor Show, was quite reasonable. In the three years of production, a total of 40 units of the sedan and the convertible were sold.
